Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A minor was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
